First Scrimmage

Our first scrimmage against Gustine was a success. The Varsity did very well and won 4 to 1. And my Junior Varsity squad won 2 to 0. We learned a lot about our guys. Our next scrimmage will be this Friday against Eden. We have a very long trip but we should do very well again. If you have nothing to do this Friday, then take a little journey out to the middle of no where and watch some 6 man football. Later.

School is around the corner and other stuff...

Well, can you hear the moans and groans around town about school arriving once again? Yes. That sound is not coming from teenagers or children. It is the sound of agonizing teachers who have been doing very little this summer. I am one of those teachers. I have stayed up late and slept in every day this summer. Am I ashamed of myself? Nah. Summer time is party time for me. (And I don't mean the moronic partying that some do where they kill their brain cells by drinking lots and lots of alcohol. That is another topic I will dive in some other day.) I play games late at night. I sleep in. I hang out with my kids and we play. I watch TV. I read novels. I workout whenever I want to. Hmm. Am I leaving anything out?
Middle east tensions are flaming again. Surprise. Surprise. These people have been doing this since Biblical times. Does anyone really think that it will end anytime soon?
Baseball season is going on right now. Really it is. I am not pulling your leg. Is anyone really watching? I am a Rangers fan but I couldn't tell you where they are in the standings. I guess I better go to Yahoo Sports and .... oh nevermind. It is baseball. It still has 2 months of games. Gee Whiz! They could shorten baseball by 100 games and it would still be too long.
Speaking of sports. This year will mark the beginning of the Wilson era of coaching football. I am excited. We have been going over plays and defenses. Sometimes I can't believe I get paid to do this! Isn't the United States awesome!?!? Remember children. Education is a good thing. It can land you a job where you coach sports and take off summers. Yippeee!
